LPO Summit a Success!
The LPO Network is a monthly free online newsletter for the LPO Industry and the companies, law firms, publishers and others who utilize the services of LPO firms. It will be published on this website monthly beginning in June 2008 (with prior issues published on this website as well). Prior to June 2008, the LPO Network was distributed electronically to individual email boxes of registered subscribers. We are happy to announce that in August 2007, George B. Hefferan III, Vice President & General Counsel of Mindcrest Inc., joined our editorial board. Mindcrest is an LPO firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois (USA) with offices in Pune and Mumbai, India. It offers services in litigation and document review, contract management, document preparation, research, and human resources compliance, among others. Mr. Hefferan's article, "Due Diligence and Related Considerations in Offshoring Litigation Support" appears in the LPO Network's August 1, 2007 issue. 
The LPO Network's Editor-in-Chief is Andrea Lee Negroni. She is Managing Director of Corporate Risk Advisors (www.corpriskadvisors.com), Of Counsel with the law firm of Buckley Kolar, LLP (www.buckleykolar.com) in Washington DC, and author of several law books on financial services regulation (published by Thomson/West) and more than 50 published articles. She represents companies that have outsourced their legal and business processes to BPO providers in India and elsewhere. She graduated from Columbia University School of Law and has been a speaker at LPO-related events for both private and conference company meetings. 
Edward Burke is President of Bodhi Global Services Pvt. Ltd. (www.bodhiglobal.com), with offices in Mumbai, India and New York. He is an attorney with more than 15 years experience in ligitation and has handled complex commercial litigation for large firms in New York and California. He was Joint Liaison Defense Counsel on data/electronic document issues in a six-year RICO conspiracy action involving major healthcare insurance companies. 
Kunoor Chopra is LawScribe, Inc.’s Founder, President and CEO. LawScribe (www.law-scribe.com) has offices in Los Angeles, California and Gurgaon, India. She was an associate attorney with Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. and Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott L.L.P where she litigated numerous large cases. LawScribe provides staffing for data entry, legal research, document review/preparation, and intellectual property services, and  other legal support services. 
Sanjay Kamlani is co-founder and co-CEO of Pangea3 (www.Pangea3.com) and was previously CFO & General Counsel of OfficeTiger, a multi-national support services outsourcing company. He was Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he developed and managed the US firm's India International Business Network. Sanjay holds a BA, Cum Laude, from Duke University and earned his J.D. degree at the University of Pennsylvania and LLM from New York University. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars.
 
Sunil Modak is Managing Director of Legistix, a service of Spectrum Business Support (www.sbsworld.com). He is a Chartered Accountant and graduate of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). He has spoken and written on Internet, e-Commerce and information technology strategy, intellectual property and e-commerce related law at meetings of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Comdex India, IIM-A, the Mudra Institute of Communications, NASSCOM’s Technology Law Forum, and others. 
Ananth Nayak is CEO and co-founder of Exactus Corporation Ltd., based in Mumbai, India (http://www.exactuscorp.com). Exactus specializes in electronic publishing and is India’s premier online legal portal. The company’s CD-ROM product on income tax (India’s first) won an international award. Mr. Nayak has Bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce from Bombay University. 
Hiren P. Patel is CEO of Aphelion Legal Solutions (http://www.aphelionlegal.com/), an LPO company based in Houston, Texas. He has worked with the global law firm DLA Piper in complex litigation involving commercial, securities, and class action matters. He also runs a limited exclusive legal practice for select clients through Patel & Warren, PLLC. He is licensed to practice law in California and Texas, and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Virginia Tax Review..
 
Karl W. Pilger, Esq.is Partner, Boring & Pilger, P.C.(www.boringandpilger.com), where he litigates business, employment and trust & estate cases. He has authored numerous articles for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), LexisNexis, the Virginia State Bar Section of Litigation, and others. Karl has taught trial advocacy for more than 20 years in programs sponsored by NITA, the U.S. Department of Justice, Emory University School of Law and other law schools. He is a 1977 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
Sundari Pisupati is director and Chief Operating Officer of Quislex (http://www.quislex.com/), an LPO in Hyderabad, India and New York. She has transactional experience with a large US firm and practiced in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, India. She earned an LLM degree from Columbia University School of Law and her Bachelor of Laws degree from The National Law School of India University, where she was valedictorian. 
Daniel Reed is Chief Executive Officer of United Lex (www.unitedlex.com), a global LPO working in the fields of intellectual property, contract management and litigation support. Previously, Dan was CFO and General Counsel to Adjoined Consulting, a management consulting, integration and outsourcing IT firm, and Managing Director of Kanbay International, India’s 6th largest IT services provider. He has also been Vice President of Corporate Development and Legal Affairs at SmartDisk Corporation and worked at Ernst & Young LLP and the law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP.
 
Rupali Shah is Director of True Legal Partners, where she is responsible for strategic planning and training (www.truelegalpartners.com). True Legal is an LPO with offices in Pune, India and Washington, DC. She is a graduate of Symbiosis Society’s Law College and was a lawyer practicing before the High (Superior) Court; she later worked in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) with Wipro, an industry leader in global outsourcing.
Karlyn D. Stanley is with Bangalore, India-based Infosys BPO Legal Services, working from the Infosys office in Reston, Virginia. She has been Executive Vice President of a private equity firm and was previously a partner in a Washington DC communications and technology law firm. She was also Senior Attorney at AT&T and Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. She is on the Board of Directors of the International Technology Law Association. She received her law degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University.
